The sand filter is a simple yet effective system.

Filtration: Water from your pool is pumped into the top of the sand filter tank.

Debris Capture: As the water pushes down through the sand bed, the fine, sharp edges of the sand grains trap dirt, algae, and other contaminants.

Clean Water Return: The filtered water collects at the bottom of the tank and is sent back into the pool.

Backwashing: Over time, the trapped debris clogs the sand bed, and the filter's internal pressure increases. To clean the filter, you reverse the water flow (a process called backwashing) to flush the debris out of the sand and send it to a waste line.
